Salem Chapter was established on 01-04-1981 as Mettur-Salem Chapter of Cost Accountants and renamed as Salem Chapter on 06-01-2019. Salem Chapter during the past more than four decades of its service organized large number of seminars to the benefit of the society in and around Salem either directly or in association with other professional bodies such as Salem Productivity Council, District Industries Centre, ICAI, ICSI, State Bank of India. Government Departments such as EPFO., Income Tax, GST., ROC have extended their help to organize seminars/programmes by us for the benefit of our members as well as the society including students. Oral coaching classes are being conducted regularly for our Courses and a minimum of 150 students are taking up their examinations in our Examination Centre ‘Bharathi Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School’, Salem 636 007.
In addition to Oral Coaching Classes at our premises, we have been conducting Oral Coaching classes in the nearby Schools/Colleges namely Sri Vidya Bharathi Matriculation School, Jayaram College of Arts & Science, Thiyagarajar Polytechnic College, Muthayammal College of Arts & Science etc.
Salem Chapter has more than 50 members, most of them are employed in Salem Steel Plant, Chemplast (Mettur), SAIL Refractories, Spinning Mills, EB., etc. Members in practice are doing Cost Audit, GST., Income Tax, Concurrent Audit of Banks, Tax consultancy etc.
Salem Chapter has won the Best Chapter Award for the year 2015 and Active chapter Award for the year 2014 for the services rendered.
Certificate in Accounting Technicians(CAT) course under the agies of the Director General Resettlement(DGR), Department of Ex-Serviceman Welfare(Ministry of Defence) has started May 2026.
